Battalion to the front, where it has rendered magnificent service

to the Empire. I my add that the members of the Special Police

Reserva (a body formed during the mr, comprising British, Indian, Portuguese, and Chinese platoons) have also performed

most useful work in the Colony.

members of friendly and foriegn communities.

indicate that the loyal Colony of Hongkong has been doing its

part in the crisis through which we are all now passing; and

I can assure you that any words of yours in relation thereto will be deeply appreciated by the people of Hongkong as a whole.

I have the honour to be, Sir,

Your obedient servant,

Alfred Hicks.
